Breathe - All Natural Cold Process Soap - Indigo, Zinc Oxide, Essential Oils - Impression Mat

Breathe is a super popular Natural Cold Process Soap that customers love (myself included)! In addition to the artisan soaps, I also like to keep all natural soaps on hand - only made with essential oils (or unscented) and colored with plants or clays. For Breathe, I actually poured this one upside down because I wanted the impression mat placed in the bottom of the mold to be the top design. I used a plastic impression mat, so it had to go into the freezer for a few hours before I could take it off. (*Note* if you notice me struggling with the wire cutter on the first loaf - the end piece decided to push that wire over so it caught on the frame. It doesn't do this very often, but when it does, it is not much fun! I had to push it back over. You never want to stop during a cut because it will leave a diagonal line in every bar of soap that will have to be smoothed out.) The fragrance is an essential oil blend of Peppermint, Lavender, and Eucalyptus. For the colors, I used a base of Indigo plus Zinc Oxide for the lighter layers. I like to add my indigo to the lye solution and CPOP to give the colors an extra pop! Oftentimes, natural colors must go through gel phase to achieve the correct color. Fair warning on indigo - it morphs to a swampy green while you are mixing! It will change back as it cures. My essential oils came from Brambleberry and Essential Depot.
