Vascular Birthmarks Foundation to hold 5th Annual walk/run for Birthmarks
In recognition of their International Day of Awareness coming up on Wednesday, May 15 the Vascular Birthmarks Foundation (VBF) will be holding their 5th Annual Challenge -- Walk/Run for Birthmarks. Every year, 40,000 children are born with a vascular birthmark that requires the opinion of a medical specialist, and events like this Walk/Run go a long way to support research and treatment. This event will also honor Alec Frazier, the 2013 Birthmark Champion. Alec is a local 2 year old boy who was born with a Port Wine Stain over his right eye. Through the help of VBF, Alec has received the treatment of top doctors, and after four treatments, his birthmark is 90% removed.
