#InfinitiQX55 #QX55 #Infiniti Here are the first images of Infiniti’s all-new QX55, a coupe version of the QX50 compact SUV. Infiniti says this is inspired by the outgoing FX or QX70 utility, that was a real sport sedan in a utility shape. At the front, the QX55 has Infiniti’s double-arch grille with geometric inner mesh inspired by the folds of Japanese origami. The unique headlamp shape mimics an eyebrow, and come standard with LED headlights. Above that is a a clamshell hood moves the shunt lines to the front fenders, where they are incorporated into the character line that stretches to the rear. The QX55 comes standard with 20-inch wheels on all models. The liftgate is clean, with an “INFINITI” badge spanning the centre. The INFINITI badge also houses the power liftgate release, which is standard on all QX55 models. The QX55 is sold with LUXE and ESSENTIAL grades, dark brushed aluminum trim or on the SENSORY grades, rich black Natural Maple open-pore wood trim flows through the cabin. The QX55 carries up to 26.9 cubic feet of cargo behind the second row, which is more than similar coupe offerings from BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The sliding second-row seat that travels nearly six inches fore and aft maximizes cargo or passenger space. There are dual, high-resolution touch screens, 8-inches on top and 7-inches below for infotainment and vehicle controls, and the QX55 is the first INFINITI vehicle to offer wireless Apple CarPlay but Android Auto need to connect through a USB port with either USB a or type-c. There is also a 9-inch head up display. Just like the QX50 that this coupe is based on, the QX55 has world’s first mass-production variable-compression 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine powers with 268 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. The VC-Turbo engine consistently varies its compression ratio between 14:1 and 8:1 to deliver high-efficiency driving or confident power low in the rev range, depending on need. A single-scroll turbocharger produces better fuel economy and better response compared to a naturally aspirated engine. As is the case with the latest Nissan and Infiniti products, this QX55 has a CVT and standard AWD with different drive modes. At takeoff, the system doles power to the front and rear axles in a 50:50 split for maximum performance. If no slip is detected, the system can send up to 100per cent of available power to the front wheels. If a slip is detected, the Intelligent AWD system can deliver up to 50per cent of the engine’s available power to the rear wheels for better traction.
