In Fiscal Year 2026, the last 162 A-10 "Thunderbolt II" aircraft of the U.S. military will be officially retired. This "Tank Buster," which has made remarkable military achievements in the deserts of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan, is about to bid farewell to the blue sky. As a fellow military enthusiast, I can't help but sigh with regret. However, there is no need to feel sorry. In the first half of 2025, we have completed in-depth improvements to the Twin 80-Series A-10 Simulated EDF (Electric Ducted Fan) model and launched its Version 2 (V2). Now, we are about to welcome the all-new Twin 64-Series A-10 Simulated EDF Model Aircraft. Let the roar of the "Warthog" (the nickname of the A-10) resound through the sky again, and extend the combat legend of Davis-Monthan Air Force Base from picture books to the actual airspace. 1. Compared with the old model, the new 64-Series A-10 EDF aircraft is manufactured with an entirely new mold, representing a true "complete transformation." Its wingspan is 1270mm, an increase of 170mm compared with the previous version. Equipped with a 6S power system and using a single 6S 4000mAh~5000mAh battery, its flight time has been increased to a range of 4 to 6 minutes. The product positioning is more reasonable, and it has a wider scope of application. 2. It adopts the paint scheme of the 47th "Douglas Pack" Fighter Squadron. The iconic wild boar face and tusk pattern make it highly distinctive. In addition, there is a water decal featuring a character from the "Li'l Abner" comic strip inside the packaging box. You can choose one to stick on the left side of the fuselage to showcase your personality. 3. The appearance and details are highly realistic, with rivets all over the fuselage surface and various detailed decorative parts. At the same time, the decorative and functional aspects of some plastic parts are combined, which not only enhances the texture of the aircraft but also endows it with practical functions: • Hidden battery heat dissipation air inlets • Specially reinforced dorsal antenna, which is also designed to serve as a canopy handle • Plastic protective cover for the battery compartment • Sensors protruding from the fuselage surface are made of plastic material to prevent scratches • Special parts such as antennas and laser pods all adopt a glue-free assembly structure 4. In addition to the conventional red and green warning lights and the nose gear taxi light, formation lights will appear on an EDF aircraft of this class for the first time, bringing a more realistic visual effect. During flight, the combined performance of the formation lights and other warning lights is particularly prominent, which greatly improves the identifiability of the aircraft's attitude, and the wonderful effect is beyond description! 5. The rich simulated mounted weapons further enhance the sense of reality of the A-10 model aircraft and give it stronger visual appeal. 6. It follows the new-generation design concept of flying wings. Through exquisite structural designs such as screw-free main wing separation technology, centralized wire harness connection, and carbon fiber tube guide cone, the usability of the product is improved. The assembly can be completed within 3 minutes in an outdoor field. 7. The new 64-Series A-10 model aircraft has a wing area of 24.6 dm² and a minimum wing loading of 113 g/dm². Compared with the new 80-Series A-10, its unit wing loading is reduced by 20 g/dm². The flight performance is effectively guaranteed — a throttle setting of approximately 40% is sufficient to maintain stable cruising, which is conducive to the control of the aircraft in specific scenarios such as landing and reduces the risk of accidents. 8. The structural strength and reliability of the landing gear and landing gear fixed seats have been significantly improved. Through hundreds of take-off and landing tests, the height of the landing gear and the hardness of the shock absorption system have been adjusted. It can withstand faster and more intense landing impacts, is not easy to be damaged, and is less likely to bounce. Front and rear hatches have been added to prevent the aircraft from being affected by the landing gear bays and improve aerodynamic performance. We will continue to provide you with more aircraft model products. Please stay tuned. www.freewingmodel.com freewing@sz-freewing.com
