People travel for all sorts of reasons - one of the main reasons for us definitely has to be the food, and what better way to explore the food of a city than to attend one of their weekly food festivals!? Ljubljana's Open Kitchen included so much more than the traditional food we expected. We ended up staying for about 5 hours just going around to all the vendors choosing which ones we couldn’t live without. The dishes we tried included veal liver, Bevog craft beer, oysters, roasted pig, štruklji (a Slovenian dumpling), fried plantain, and of course some gelato. All of it was amazing and hopefully this inspires someone to go out and try some new food! This festival runs every Friday over summer so make sure to check it out if you visit Ljubljana!
