Last year, I picked up a used (2008) Sig 556 'ER', which impressed me greatly in many respects: function, operating system, ability to eat ANY ammo (brass, steel, good stuff & garbage). Still, over time, it became clear that I was going to need to: improve the iron sights, improve the ergonomics (hand guard and stock situation), or, probably move on from the rifle. I chose the latter, and damn glad I did. Iron sight system: there is a company called MFI that manufactures aftermarket Swiss-style diopter sights, and as you'll see in this video, they do a damn fine job.
