Choose a plant which is capable of forming a hedge and being trimmed. 3. Design your scheme on a piece of paper and study images on the internet. 4. Don't plant them too close together. 5. Feed them regularly. 6. Mulch them. 7. Trim twice yearly for a tight hedge or once for less tight. I trim in the UK in June. 8. Go for shallow and rounded curves rather than deep defined angular shapes, rounded looks more natural. 9. Be careful with power tools and cables and make sure you use a circuit breaker.
