Having not played the franchise at all prior, God of War (2018) was one of the most engrossing, emotional, and enjoyable video game stories I have experienced probably ever. One of the best parts of the game was the magnificent, meticulous, and ethnically rich score Bear McCreary crafted that remains one of the best video game scores I've ever heard. Never once seen, yet Faye's presence is felt throughout the entire game, through its narrative, and its characters. McCreary created a heartbreaking, emotional theme for her that weaves its way in and out of the score, that can be grand and beautiful as much as it is tragic and sorrowful.
