Dr. Ana Copaescu, an Early Career Investigator Awardee, presented her research at the 2022 Gairdner Science Week Laureate Lectures. Dr. Copaescu is an allergy-immunology and internal medicine specialist at the rank of Assistant Professor at the McGill University Health Center in Montreal, Canada.She is an early career clinician-scientist at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre with an international track record in allergy-immunology, in particular drug allergy, severe drug reactions and antimicrobial stewardship. Dr Copaescu is currently a PhD candidate focusing on drug allergy immune-mediated hypersensitivity reactions at the University of Melbourne, Australia. Her current clinical and research interests include penicillin and drug allergy delabelling aiming to promote the appropriate use of antimicrobial agents through clinical stewardship interventions.
