Channeled through collective movement, Mexico City-based director Rebeca Becerra Cusi and director-choreographer César Brodermann mirror the continual motion of a machine that never stops for the short film A Machine That Trembles. Featuring Brodermann alongside dancers from his company and arts collective, ATERNO, ten bodies move in a silent dialogue, simulating a mechanical force and their own limits. Working with cinematographer Sebastian Blanco, and a cast of friends and collaborators, the shoot unfolded without pressure or structure, allowing the theme of resistance to naturally emerge from a simple desire to move and experiment.
