In this video, we start the new chapter Laws of Motion NLM. We discuss Newton's First Law, also known as the Law of Inertia. We explore why objects resist changes in their state of motion and look at real-life examples like the coin-card experiment and passengers in a moving bus. Concepts Covered on Board: 👉 Newton's First Law: A body remains at rest or in uniform motion unless acted upon by an external unbalanced force. Inertia: The inherent property of a body to oppose any change in its state. 👉 Types of Inertia: Inertia of Rest: Resistance to start moving. (Example: Coin falls into glass when card is flicked). Inertia of Motion: Resistance to stop moving. (Example: Passenger falls forward when bus stops). Inertia of Direction: Resistance to change direction. (Example: Stone tied to string flies tangentially if string breaks). 👉 Mass and Inertia: Mass is the measure of Inertia. Relation: Inertia is directly proportional to Mass. A heavier body (10 kg) has more inertia than a lighter body (2 kg). Note: Inertia is independent of the frame of reference. 📍 Duration: 29:17 Timestamps: 00:00 - Introduction - Laws of Motion 03:00 - Newton First Law Statement 06:30 - What is Inertia?
