Composers: Mario Panas, Ralf Arnie & Klaus Munro Swedish lyrics: Lars Wiggman In Sweden, the song was a massive hit and became a long-running favourite on Svensktoppen, spending 24 weeks on the chart between 9 September 1973 and 17 February 1974, peaking at No. 1 on 25 November 1973. This was also the third Vicky Leandros cover Ann-Louise Hanson recorded within a short period of time, following: – “Jag Minns Din Hand På Min Arm” 1971 (Swedish version of “Ich bin”), check it out here: • Ann-Louise Hanson - Jag Minns Din Hand På ... – “Vad Än Sker” 1972 (Swedish version of the Eurovision winner “Après toi”), check it out here: • Ann Louise Hanson - Vad än sker Ann-Louise Hanson is one of Sweden’s most long-running and recognisable recording artists, with a career stretching from the late 1950s into the 1980s and beyond. She broke through as a teenager and became a mainstay of Swedish popular music. She is strongly associated with 14 appearances in Melodifestivalen – a long-standing record – and more than 600 recorded songs, placing her among the most prolific recording artists in Swedish music history. During the 1960s and 1970s she released a long string of singles and albums spanning pop, schlager, easy listening and, by the late 1970s, country music, which became one of her defining styles. She has remained an active and visible concert and recording artist through the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and beyond, even if the pace of new studio recordings has been more selective in later years, making her one of the most durable and respected careers in Swedish popular music. Alongside her solo career, she was also part of the family group Glenmarks during the first half of the 1970s. Beyond Sweden, she recorded in several languages and appeared frequently on television, in revues and on tour, consolidating her status as one of Scandinavia’s most respected and versatile popular singers. Personal note: This single was a birthday gift when I turned 10 in October 1973 — at that point it had only been on Svensktoppen for a few weeks — and I completely wore out the A-side. Still pure magic. Enjoy! Or in some cases perhaps a more complete or in better quality version. Always ripped and recorded from my own vinyl collection. Focus on Swedish covers of international hits, of Eurovision stuff and other easy listening from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.
