About 4 years ago, I spoke with Syngenta (major ag) on my parthenocarpic lines. It was a Zoom call with many of their folks. I assumed it was breeders, heads of departments, and what-have-you. After a time, they responded declining an interest in pat-b parthenocarpy. They outlined a few reasons including “difficulty to produce F1 seed”. This has been in the back of my mind to test and see. After having it genetically tested, it was presented to me that pat-b may be semi-dominant and not recessive. This ties into what point a "hybrid" of two inbred lines could be created using pat-b genetics. This video is a great beginning to address the type of gene pat-b is and it's mode of action.
