Trim one side of each join and connect pieces with tape. Cut out along the outermost seam allowance line. 2 Place body pattern on fabric WRONG side. Fold vertically at shoulder fold-mark, horizontally at back center fold-mark. Pin and cut 4 layers together along outer seam line. 3 Place sleeve pattern on fabric WRONG side. Fold at sleeve cap fold-mark, then accordion fold. Pin and cut 4 layers along outer seam line. Cut sleeve underarm fold to create 2 sleeves. 4 Cut these from WRONG side: Okumi (front panel) Collar Cut collar interfacing folded at fold-mark. 5 Press fold lines at: Body shoulder/back center Sleeve cap 6 Unfold body. Pin pattern to right front body. Fold/cut along collar attachment line. Cut collar-shoulder-space in the same way. Leave 3mm at neck openings. Flip the pattern. Pin pattern to left front body. Fold/cut along Okumi attachment line. Cut collar-shoulder-space in the same way. Leave 3mm at neck openings. 7 Zigzag/overlock Body's Okumi attachment on left body Collar attachment's center on right body Sleeve attachment Side Okumi's Okumi attachment Sleeve's Under-sleeve Sleeve attachment 8 Press folds: Right body's collar attachment: WRONG side together Okumi's okumi attachment : RIGHT side together Sleeve's sleeve attachment: RIGHT side together Collar's finish line, collar center, collar mountain: RIGHT side together Collar interfacing's collar center, collar mountain Press triple fold: Right front body's hem Left front body's hem: Flip the pattern over (printed side down). Back body's hem Okumi's hem Left & right cuffs 9 Set sleeves: Match shoulder/sleeve cap RIGHT side together. Align raw edges. Straight stitch along with iron's crease, leaving underarm seam allowance. Repeat both sides. 10 Attach okumi to left front body, RIGHT side together. Align raw edges. Straight stitch along with iron's crease. 11 Fold body at shoulder mountain RIGHT side together. Roll up the sleeve underarm to prevent overlap. Stitch side seams with 1.5cm allowance. Keep slit markings clear. 12 Stitch sleeve underarms RIGHT side together (1.5cm allowance). 13 Finish sleeve cuffs: Machine blind stitch or straight stitch. 14 Finish body/okumi hems: Machine blind stitch or straight stitch. 15 Turn RIGHT side out. Align the collar attachment lines of the body and okumi panels perfectly straight. Align the center of the outer collar with the center back of the body. Remove the pattern, and align the edge of the entire collar with the neckline of the body and okumi, layering them together. Sew along the crease made with the iron on the collar using a straight stitch. Stitch (2.5mm at neck slit, 5mm elsewhere). 16 Layer collar/interfacing at collar center, about 5 mm away from the seam. Straight stitch collar's seam allowance and interfacing. 17 Fold the seam allowances at both ends of the collar to the outside, and sew only the seam allowances together with a straight stitch on the sewing machine. This will prevent the seam allowances from slipping out at the collar tips. 18 Turn WRONG side out. Layer the collar edge of the right front bodice and the left inner collar along the fold line. Fold along the natural curve of the collar ridge and re-pin it to the front panel (okumi). Similarly, fold the collar around the neckline and pin it in place. Turn the entire piece right side out. Stitch the inner collar to the outer surface of the garment, sewing closely along the seam line of the outer collar. 19 Fold the inner collar about 1 cm away from the collar ridge, pin it in place, and sew it to the front bodice using either a blind stitch or a straight stitch. Sew along the same length as the fold line of the right front bodice. Fold down any parts that lift up after sewing. 20 Neatly fold the entire garment. Mark the intersection of the left inner collar and the right outer collar with a pin. Attach a snap button at that point, with the male part on the inner collar and the female part on the outer collar. The snap button should be approximately 8 mm in size. 21 Press the entire garment with an iron to finish.
