#appleorangesauce #bloodorangesauce #applesauce Apple Blood Orange Sauce Ingredients: • Red Apple – 1 • Blood Oranges – 2 • Unrefined Sugar – 8 tsp • Any Starch: Cornstarch/Potato Starch or Arrowroot Starch – 1 tsp Method: • Cook 1 red apple in water for 10-15 mins, spit into half, take the seeds out and place in a bowl, add 4 tsp of sugar. Cover and leave aside for 2hrs. • Peel the blood oranges, place in a bowl and add the sugar, cover and leave aside for 2 hrs. • After 2 hrs, puree the fruits together with the sugar. • Save a small portion of the puree in a bowl, add the starch, mix nicely and keep aside. • Heat a pan with hot water and cook the fruit puree mixture in a pan over this double boiler arrangement. Constantly stir the mixture to help heat the sauce uniformly while cooking. • Approx. After 7 mins, the water in the sauce reduces. • At this stage, add the saved puree with the starch. Cook further by constant stirring for another 5-7 mins till a desired thick consistency is achieved. • Transfer into a bowl and allow it to cool. It will get a little thicker. • NB: For cooking all through, use a medium flame. Storage: keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days • You can use the sauce as a topping over cakes, tarts, desserts, scones, or even ice creams. Keep Healthy, Happy and Safe!!
