This session was held June 2, 2021. Presenter: Larry Edelman A Conversation About Using Technology to Enhance Early Intervention Services Larry Edelman, MS, is a consultant in the fields of early care and education, early childhood special education, and early intervention. As a child development specialist, professional development specialist, instructional designer, and video producer, Mr. Edelman has worked with hundreds of early childhood agencies in more than 45 states and abroad. For more than 40 years, Mr. Edelman has worked with a diverse group of collaborating organizations including federal, state, and local agencies in the fields of early care and education, early intervention, health, special education, developmental disabilities, family support, other human services, as well as with parent and advocacy organizations. Mr. Edelman has contributed to initiatives related to a rich array of topics including: early childhood care and education, home visiting, supports and services, family-centered services, service coordination, assessment, outcomes measurement systems, instructional design, coaching, use of technology, and professional development and performance support. As an instructional designer, he has written, edited, and produced hundreds of professional development programs, online learning modules, and instructional materials, many of which have been adopted throughout the United States and internationally. As a video producer, Mr. Edelman has produced several hundred videos illustrating recommended and evidence-based practices in a variety of early childhood fields. A significant focus of his work is helping state and local programs put in place systems that use video and related technologies to enhance service delivery, assessment, coaching, consultation, professional development, and performance support activities. During the pandemic, he has been producing videos that document how early intervention, preschool, and early childhood education services are being delivered across the country. In addition to his consulting practice, Mr. Edelman is also a Senior Clinical Instructor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
