Spectrum II Automatic Dual-Simultaneous Dispensing Solder Paste

On the Spectrum II, dual valve dispensing accuracy has been significantly improved with the combination of the Auto-Dual Simultaneous (ADS) bracket and improvements to the S-II motion system design. Now, more applications can be considered for dual valve dispensing to increase platform UPH. The ADS bracket can be configured to automatically adjust the valve 2 position (up to +/-2.5mm in X & Y axes) based upon fiducial finds to account for work piece skew (but not individual part to part variation or rotation). The Z-height of valve 2 is manually adjusted with a precision micrometer to achieve comparable height between valves 1 and 2. In-house validation on multiple systems has indicated +/- 75 um repeatability for both valves inclusive and +/- 45 um repeatability when considering each valve independently. Line dispense accuracy tests are still on-going to fully characterize the ADS dual valve performance.
