Gina is locked behind either getting Sharky as early as Act 1 or the side quest pops up during Act 2. I'd advise do Sharkys Specialist mission this way you get Gina mission early at Propserity. Once again get your snipering skills on during this mission and yes bring some explosives. A bunch of em if you want to time em on the cars too. Simple mission keep Gina alive by taking care of her opponents in the race and at the same time sniper the foes in the towers across from you to keep yourself alive. Just keep on doing that and you'll win the race for Gina and after that she will become your Guns for Hire which is the 7th and last possible one UNTIL your deep into Act 2 doing one of the main missions.
