It was about time I did a video on Hannibal Barca, wasn't it? In fact, this is just the beginning of my new 'Enemies of Rome' series, and it will be followed by Spartacus, Atilla, and Boudicca. Hannibal, though, came first, along with his war elephants, and a big chunk of the Carthage army, and they gave Rome so much trouble that there almost was no Roman Empire to begin with. I'll even go further by saying that it was only thanks to Hannibal that Rome ended up being as powerful as they were: Your toughest challenges, once overcome, only end up making you stronger, and boy was Hannibal ever tough. Notes: I don't really have a lot of notes on this video, because I feel confident that I covered all the important parts of Hannibal's battles against Rome. I didn't go into as much detail on his specific battle tactics, because those are literally still being studied and there are tons of videos and texts on it. As always, I try to simplify these historic epics into a smooth storyline that you can enjoy without much prior knowledge, and with ease. I hope I got the job done, and I hope to see you back here next week for my Spartacus video. The scenes in the beginning are from Game of Thrones, and I'm not gonna lie here... Pedro Pascal would absolutely make a perfect Hannibal Barca. Let me know in the comments who your pick for Hannibal would be, but I'm rolling with Pedro all day. Mandatory shout out to Jason Momoa, because he's basically the go to for these types of roles, but he's a little too big for my liking, and I don't remember Hannibal being described as being a particularly big guy. No pun intended because I don't know what Hannibal was packing. That being said... there are tons of actors, and probably many of actual North African descent, that would absolutely slay this role. But I think look-wise Pedro Pascal absolutely fits.
