Rating: 8/10. Build details in description. Arceus @ Fist Plate Ability: Multitype Tera Type: Any EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def Bold Nature Scorching Sands Will-O-Wisp Taunt / Chilling Water Recover / Chilling Water Vitamins: 25 HP Up (or Health Mochi), 25 Iron (or Resist Mochi) Feathers: 2 Health Feathers, 2 Resist Feathers Stats at lvl 100 w/ perfect IVs: HP : 444 Defense : 372 Speed : 276 Support Purpose : burn tyranitar to reduce damage allies take from critical hits (will-o-wisp, scorching sands). negate tyranitar's use of dragon dance (taunt, chilling water) Strategy: will-o-wisp (retry if you miss). taunt if you have it (timing depends on ally behavior and can be unpredictable). wait for tyranitar to reset its stats and try to use dragon dance. 1-2 chilling water if you have it and you weren't able to block the dragon dances. scorching sands until tyranitar gets burned or the shield breaks, whichever happens first. recover if you need HP. chilling water if you have it and tyranitar is already burned. after the shield breaks use will-o-wisp if tyranitar is not burned, and use it again after it resets its stats the 2nd time. keep allies alive with heal cheers until they KO tyranitar. Notes: although taunt is better than chilling water under ideal conditions, random play often yields far from ideal conditions. there can be competition with other players who try to taunt as well and time it incorrectly. players can trigger the shield prematurely by getting KO'd or dealing too much damage. So I would recommend replacing taunt with chilling water so that you can still undo the dragon dances if the opening is chaotic. unfortunately gouging fire is not viable because stone edge does not make contact, so it does not activate the burn effect from burning bulwark, and it can't learn will-o-wisp or survive with a rock weakness long enough to terastalize into a type that would invite crunch or shadow claw. all the mon that can learn sacred fire or inferno have type weaknesses. 30% chance of burn from scorching sands may be as good as it gets for burn support while the shield is up. Pros: fantastic HP and defense stats, outspeeds tyranitar before it uses dragon dance twice. resists crunch and stone edge. no weaknesses, will-o-wisp burns when the shield is down 85% of the time. scorching sands burns when the shield is up 30% of the time. recover heals 50% of max HP. taunt blocks tyranitar from using dragon dance. alternatively, chilling water debuffs attack 1 stage through shield. Cons: will-o-wisp misses 15% of the time. scorching sands fails to burn 70% of the time. so this strategy can easily be thwarted by bad RNG. outsped by tyranitar if unable to stop it from using dragon dance twice.
