👉 How To Take Control Of Your Financial Future And Make Your Money Work For You, So You Can Sleep Soundly At Night (Without relying on your husband and even if are super busy): http://learn.investdiva.com/yes Wondering how to save money as a mom so you don't have to worry about your personal finance and future financial situation? Here's How a Mom of 3 Saved $169K in 2 Years and plans to retire at 40... My guest at the Invest Diva Movement today is Jamila Souffrant, the Founder & CEO of Journeytolaunch.com. Jamila is a Wife & Mom of 3 in New York but before she had kids, She had a good job with a commute from hell - Brooklyn to Morristown NJ. Sometimes it was 4 hours driving in total a day! She then decided she 'didn't like her Corporate America job and didn’t want to have to call anyone else boss. In her early 30's she set the goal that she would retire from her job and be financially independent at 40. She began a plan in which she and her husband changed their lifestyle, began investing and began saving money - they saved $85,000 in just one year... In 2018 she reached her goal, quit her job and began Journey To Launch full time! Today she's going to tell us exactly how she did this, how she got her husband on board, and how they did this while keeping the balance and not giving up on all the joys of life. Here's a story that inspired her to do this: "I heard a millionaire educator and his wife, both teachers were able to retire early or create a million-dollar portfolio on teacher salaries because they saved and invested half their income." Here's how she got her husband on board with the budgeting to get to their financial goals: "It was really important for him to get on board with the budgeting because a lot of the saving and invested it was both of us, right? It was two of our incomes combined to be able to do that. So essentially, I sent him articles and podcasts which he really probably never read or listened to. Then I sat down with him and I said what would it take to live a really good lifelike in the future, like let's just say because he's a teacher and with New York City, he gets to retire at 50 Early, which is still early compared to the average age. So I said, Okay, let's just say you retired at 35. And I didn't like I also was able to retire, what would you want to do? Like every day? Where would you want to take trips? And so we talked about that I got him excited about that. And I said, Okay, and what do you consider a good life now? So I kind of bounced between what is a good life later? And what's a good life now? And then what can we do? Is there a way that we can balance the two, like, where we don't have to give up everything that we love now, but then we are more intentional about later that those conversations and showing him the numbers helped. I think men Well, at least my husband, he is very much a numbers guy, when he sees the numbers it helps. So I created a spreadsheet that showed him. If we were to save and invest like half our income or a lot of our income, over the next 5-10 years, we would have this much money, like versus if we do what we do now. So it showed like our portfolio our net worth really accumulating a lot and he was just like, oh, and this doesn't mean like we never go out to eat again. I was like, No, we can do that so that's kind of like what got him excited about everything too." Married Money Management Tips: open communication and being on the same balance and validating each other's feelings because yeah, for me, like saving money and putting into investing is super important for my husband. 👉 How To Grow $500 Into $10,573 Using This Weird Japanese Investing System: http://learn.investdiva.com/yes LET'S TALK ON SOCIAL* 📒 Facebook (Invest Diva): / investdiva 🐦 Twitter (Invest Diva): / investdiva 📒 Facebook (Kiana Danial): / kianadanial 🐦 Twitter (Kiana Danial): / kianadanial 📷 Instagram: / investdiva Disclaimer: I am NOT a financial advisor, and nothing I say is meant to be a recommendation to buy or sell any financial instrument.
