The FM House is an impressive residence that stands out in the landscape due to its elevated position on a 5,125 square meter plot with a 37-meter slope, surrounded by a native savanna forest with large trees. Situated in the middle of the block, the property has frontage on two streets. The main social access is located at the bottom of the land, reached by a long winding track that leads to the central plateau at the middle level. Service access and vehicle entry occur through the upper part of the land via a steel platform. The façade of the FM House extends across the entire width of the property, and the composition of the residence is organized with a series of overlapping volumes. By reversing the traditional flow of the middle block lots, the leisure areas are brought to the front facade, allowing for direct access and emphasizing social interaction within the family. The residence consists of four main levels. The highest level includes a garage and storage areas, while the floor just below houses the private areas. The intermediate level is dedicated to social spaces, seamlessly integrating with the leisure areas and the infinity-edge pool. Below that, in the basement, there is a recreational floor with a wine cellar and sauna. The premise of this residence is the integration of the built environment with the natural context, achieved through the elimination of visual barriers and the use of extensive glazed areas. Natural materials such as stone and wood are used. In order to minimize the impact on the existing vegetation and reduce the need for earthworks and retaining walls, a steel structure anchored in a central concrete block was chosen, with large cantilevered slabs supported by imposing metal capitals. This choice allowed for the creation of thinner structural elements, giving a sense of visual lightness.
