PRIDE Industries and LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired (LightHouse) are partners in a revolutionary approach to social inclusion, paired with a deep commitment to environmental stewardship. In 2018, LightHouse became the exclusive manufacturer for PRIDE Industries’ award-winning PRIDEClean® product line and entered into an alliance with PRIDE Industries to bring SKILCRAFT® products to the federal government. LightHouse ECO, a social enterprise of LightHouse, manufactures its SKILCRAFT® products in a state-of-the-art, fully accessible facility in Alameda, California with a workforce made up of 75 percent blind and low vision professionals. This is a unique partnership between two organizations that are part of the AbilityOne program: PRIDE Industries, a SourceAmerica company, and LightHouse, a National Industries for the Blind agency. Blind and low vision people create environmentally friendly products, which are then used by PRIDE Industries teams to safely and effectively clean 13,000 government buildings, roughly 20 million square feet, many of which are on our nation’s military bases.
