The Vimek Auger test bench (nicknamed "Skruven" in the video) was designed as a simple and gentle tool for mounding. This auger concept used chains to create a mound on top of undisturbed humus. The soil for the mound was sourced from a hole drilled next to the mound. The idea would be to mount several of these augers 1-2 m apart on a multi-headed soil preparation device. This video shows a demonstration that was conducted on sandy sedimentary soil. Subsequent trials on moraine/till soils, however, showed that the chains quickly wore down (within 6-7 hours) when rocks were present. This video was made in May 2015. The sporadic commentary is in Swedish. I have shared this video solely for educational purposes. The video is shared with permission from the test bench's inventor, Lars-Gunnar Nilsson in Slipstensjön, Västerbotten, Sweden (one of the inventors of the Vimek forwarders). As of Christmas 2020, no other documentation of this invention is available.
