We went on a 14 day cruise to Hawaii & Back! We decided the boys were a perfect age to go with us on this once in a lifetime trip! This cruise was such a fun itinerary and the best way to see multiple islands and the west coast of Mexico! We highly recommend this itinerary, but also would have loved the 15 day trip with an extra stop to Kona on the Big Island. In this video we cover all 8 sea days, our stops in Maui, Honolulu Oahu, Kauai, and Hilo on the big island, as well as our stop in Ensenada Mexico. One big thing I recommend on a trip like this, is DO NOT book shore excursions through Carnival. Not only do they charge full price for every kid on the excursion, but you can do so much more planning your own way around the island. Rent a car, or use TURO. It so much better then the expensive excursions that rush you around the island. We filled everyday with multiple activities that would have cost us thousands, and they were so much more enjoyable and affordable. If you do want an excursion, which we did in Hilo, we used Viator. We got on the same excursion bus with people that paid, four times as much through Carnival. Do your research, and save yourself time and money! Our kids had a blast and were so sad to go home! My oldest wished we could stay on the boat and do it all over again. Some may be worried about your kids being gone this long, but it was so worth it. You will never get a chance to make big memories with your kids like this, so if you have the money saved, and are ready to take an adventure, you can make it happen. Do we recommend bringing your kids with with you on a trip like this? Of course! Being on this trip without them would have made it feel incomplete, and in my opinion a lot less enjoyable. Granted kids add stress to any trip, but they add so more much joy, when you see the world through their eyes. Honestly Hawaii is more fun experiencing it with the whole family.
