Improved Multi-Size Box Joint Jig for Router Table

Will this jig slide well for making box joints with the homemade router table? My idea is to reduce the sliding surface, which is why I’m using some round wood rods as runners. Also, the base of the jig is slightly elevated above the table. Instead of choosing the size of the router bit, I cut four pieces of plywood to make a jig that can use four straight router bits of different sizes for wood. However, my mistake was using low-quality plywood, which caused one of the pieces to suffer so much tear out that I couldn’t use it. I find the trick interesting that allows me to make sure the side pins of the joint are the same size, even though they are narrower than the router bit I used. When adjusting the distance from the indexing key to the router bit, if the piece between them fits tightly, the pin will be thin and will fit loosely into the sockets when making the joint. If the piece is loose between the indexing key and the router bit, the pin will be thick and fit very tightly. I should have made the indexing keys longer and shorter in height.
