The textured implant, created by Allergan, was recalled because of its link to a form of lymphoma, Breast Implant Associated-Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL). The textured implant was initially designed to give patients a more natural feel, but Dr. Potter believes its texture is like a tiny velcro that grows into the woman's body, causing the lymphoma.
