Savage Gulf at South Cumberland State Park, Tennessee’s largest at over 30,800 acres. https://www.friendsofsouthcumberland.... BIG CREEK RIM TRAIL is one of our favorite hikes. Beginning at the Stone Door, this trail follows fairly close to the bluff for 3.2 miles to the Alum Gap Campground, passing several scenic overlooks along the way, and is an 8.2-mile out-and-back hike. There are several dispersed sites at this campground and you will need to make a reservation beforehand. I suggest you not reserve #3 but the others are really good. Easy hike and Greeters Falls is 1.0 mile away. We got to test some of our new gear out before our big trip to Glazier National Park. Savage Gulf is a great place to see nature.
