His feast day is celebrated on October 23rd, and he was an enormously influential figure in the early history of the Church. Now…, it gets confusing. There are a LOT of Jimmys in the Bible and this is yet another one. He is often confused with the Apostle James, James the Greater - one of the inner three (James, Peter and John). He was not THAT James. Or he gets confused with James, son of Alphaeus also known as James the Less and also an Apostle. He isn’t that James either.
