(Mod retimed to 4:21:07.) ...yeah, I can see why there weren't any submissions for this category on speedrun.com. Threw together a route based on the Any%, but with several notable adjustments: I started collecting piles of trash for the Artsie goal as soon as I got out of jail. It took pretty much the whole game to accumulate the 100 I needed. I got a couple of early charisma levels at the shop early on, since you get a lot of bang for your buck manually training those early levels. I also tried to get Logic 3 before writing the thesis, but motive drain just barely didn't let me finish it. I came back later, just before unlocking the SimQuarter, to finish the level. I did a safety save before the Moogoo Monkey you do in chapter 3 (the first of many pre-minigame saves!), since I would need to get to level 5 by the end. I bought every smoothie that brought me closer to the minigame promotion requirements (Body 9, Logic 8, Cooking 5, Charisma 7). Probably could have done more university classes or even used the Nerdie machine/safety saves to get more levels, but I went the smoothie route. If I'd known money would be such an issue at the end I might've reconsidered! I indended to get a piece of petrified wood for the Nerdie goal while I was doing the reality TV show. However, I also wanted to test out whether the ninja would appear during the show, and as a result of that I ended up stuck on the lower island. After the show ended, it finished the dialogue with Pritchard and teleported the fanboat to the upper island but left me on the lower one! I ended up doing a starvation teleport back to the hospital (huge timesave opportunity there!). I lingered out the last mission, since I could see money was going to be a bottleneck, so I wanted to make progress on the $30k Richie goal. If I'd known money would be so tight at the end I probably would've tarnished my reputation on the TV show for the extra $10k! As for the end of the run, I wasn't keeping track of how much my assets were worth, so it was definitely a surprise when I got the $30k asset goal after buying the $100 Rosebud smoothie. Not sure whether this is known in the Urbz community, but you can get the item you sacrifice for the Hoose Cat glitch back--I got my hoverboard back after receiving several packages in the mail. I'm assuming it's related to that; after a couple of those packages it appeared in the end of the package inventory. There were three different notable first tries this run: first try thesis, first try lamp, and first try chess piece! Of all the runs to get that on, a good Any% pace would've been better, but I'm not complaining. Most of the minigame promotions were pretty straightforward, but Moogoo Monkey was pretty tough for me. It didn't help that I was getting tired (the run took longer than I anticipated). I was feeling pretty confident about my Dr. Max Stat! skills, so those low-performing plays were a bit humbling! As far as end-game strategy goes, I'll probably want to focus on money earlier. Maybe even defriending Roxie early into chapter 3 for the extra Nerdie rep point/machine might be a good idea. That way I can save a lot of money that went to smoothies. As if I'm going to play this category again!
