The Rt. Hon. James Brokenshire MP, was a committed supporter of Queen Mary's Hospital and in his role as MP for Old Bexley and Sidcup, campaigned tirelessly to retain and improve services at the hospital for local people. Sadly, James died in October 2021 following a diagnosis of lung cancer. In memory of James and in recognition of his hard work and dedication to keeping the hospital open and working for the community, a new meeting space at Queen Mary's Hospital has been officially opened in his name. The James Conference Room was officially opened by Cathy Brokenshire, wife of James, alongside current MP for Old Bexley and Sidcup, Louie French MP. Andy Trotter, Chair of Oxleas and Ify Okocha, Chief Executive, also joined the official event with a number of colleagues and estates team, who organised the event.
