WALKED-UP SHOOTING WITH SPANIELS AND LABS. IN SCOTLAND

One of my best days out this season. A three hour drive awaited me and a couple of mates as we headed to Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland for a walked-up shoot day with a Keeper friend of mine Dave Rankin. A nice evening with food and one or two beers was spent in the Arden House Hotel before a good nights sleep with an early wake- up call for breakfast. Arriving at Dave's house, a quick cup of tea before donning our waterproofs and getting my Miroku MK11 out for possibly the final time of the 24-25 season. With heavy rain forecast for later on in the afternoon our plan was to get as much ground covered as quickly as possible. Some fantastic cover with rushes, reeds and clear-fell, one or two great flushes and some fantastic retrieving for both my OFTW Betley-Court Holly and Josh's young lab Rusty (only 16 months) with all guns shooting straight and some great banter, its another day that I'll remember for a long time to come. #blackgold #hunting #englishspringerspaniel #miroku #pheasanthunting #spaniel #fieldsportsbritain #fieldsports #browningcanada
