It's been over 6 years since my old world record run of 1:26:56, so I thought it was finally time to return once again to Dark Sector and see how far I could push it. I went through the entire game, re-routing everything and the result: almost 20 minutes faster! There are a lot of new strats that made this possible, but the main thing is that you can just run past a lot of the fights, which is very risky but worth it. Though it definitely makes the run scary, since at any point you could be risk of dying and potentially lose the run. Other than that it's also taking less ammo, better aiming and several other minor optimizations. There's a lot of things I could explain in the run, but that would be too much. So if there's anything you have a question about, please let me know! Instead I'll explain the less obvious things: At 4:20, to make the boss spawn you only need to kill the 5 soldiers from the helicopter. After that's done you don't need to do anything else, not even attack the boss since the fight is on a timer. At 15:22, to continue ahead you need to wait until the Colossus destroys a barrier. So I activate the enemies, then gather some ammo while waiting. At 34:05, I restart checkpoint to make the enemies behind me not catch up as fast. It seems to help at least. In the end I'm happy with this run, even with several deaths and mistakes, since it's very hard to get a clean run.
