Rocket MkII Boat Build Pt 5 - Making the Keel Assembly

In this video I am showing how to make the keel assembly for the Rocket MkII kit. The keel on this boat consists of a straight aft keel, a keel filler block that creates the hull step, a curved, laminated fwd keel and a stem with a breasthook fitted to the top. I cover the machining processes for all of the different types of timber that make up this assembly including showing how to machine a straight piece of stock which is necessary for the aft keel. How to machine the laminations and make the laminated fwd keel. How to machine and assemble the solid wood core of the stem. I also show the assembly of the keel form in MDF which comes from the CNC forms sheet within the kit. In my next video I will be making, setting up the strong back and doing a complete dry assembly of all the parts that I have put together so far.
