Teen jailed for town centre double murder in Halifax

A Kirklees teenager who stabbed two young men to death in Halifax town centre and seriously injured a third has been jailed for life. Rashane Douglas, aged 19, of Jade Place, Huddersfield, was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 28 years at Bradford Crown Court today (4 June) after being found guilty of murdering Haidar Shah, aged 19, and Joshua Clark, aged 21, in the early hours of October 1, last year. Officers were called at 3.48am on the Sunday morning to reports that three men had been assaulted outside a nightclub on Commercial Street. Both Haidar and Joshua were taken to hospital and later passed away as a result of their injuries. The third teenager, an 18-year-old, was also taken to hospital with serious injuries. He received treatment and was later discharged. Douglas was arrested later the same day after he attended Huddersfield Police Station to hand himself in. He was subsequently charged on 4 October with two counts of murder, attempt murder and possession of an offensive weapon. Find out more at: https://www.westyorkshire.police.uk/n...
