We choose four different routes to playing at low volumes, and endeavour to keep everything under 80dB (measured at around seven feet away from the amps). We’re using a computer software approach with IK Multimedia Amplitube Max; a small digital modelling amp with the Yamaha THR10; plus a small and big amp on the end of a regular pedalboard. Obviously these aren’t the only four options, but it’s a start!
