#MicroTESE #maleinfertilitytreatment This video demonstrates how sperms are searched and located in a teased Micro TESE sample for a case of Non Obstructive Azoospermia or Semen with No / Nil Sperms. Conventional TESA / TESE is a blind procedure where in seminiferous tubules are blindly extracted from the testes. Micro TESE on the other hand allows the Andrologist to search for swollen microtubules that is most likely to contain sperms. An Embryologist received such swollen microtubules after Micro TESE in the IVF Lab. Microtubules are teased under a microscope and then viewed in high magnification patiently until sperms are found. This particular case, sperms were located in only one biopsy , the sixth out of total 8 biopsies. This is the beauty of Micro TESE. If this patient would have undergone conventional TESA, there could have been high chances of missing the site of spermatogenesis. We use Olympus IX73 Inverted Microscope and GT 5.0 Series Tuscen Digital Camera.
