How does a Streamtek Vortex tube work ? 1. Compressed air enters the vortex tube at a standard NPT inlet port and travels through the vortex generator into the spin chamber. 2. Inside the spin chamber, the air stream spins at up to one million revolutions per minute, which separates it into hot and cold air. 3. Hot air, being lighter in weight, is pushed to the outside wall of the spin chamber, meanwhile cold air, being heavier in weight, remains in the center. 4. Hot air exits the vortex tube at one end, while cold air exits at the opposite end.
