The next Zone of this game is Machine Labyrinth. You can once again the Wave Cyclone to reach it, and even head there from Plant Kingdom's island to save time. ---- Indeed, this island is a labyrinth full of machinery. Just what Sonic, Tails, and Marine needed for more part for their next water ride. ---- Use steam as a boost upwards, travel through pipes, and get launched by drums and windmills in this Chemical Plant-esque stage. You can even hitch a ride on hang gliders like in 8-Bit Sonic 2! The Material you win from beating Acts in this Zone are Bronze Material. ---------- Marine got herself lost again through this Labyrinth of Machines, but Sonic & Tails managed to catch up to her again. But then the three encountered another huge robotic foe for Sonic to face against! ---------- The Ghost Pendulum can't be reached by Sonic normally. You have to use his momentum and jumps to hit the robots pendulums right back at it. You start out with a lightweight blue pendulum to use, but then this boss spawns a middleweight yellow one and then a heavyweight red one. The heavier the pendulum is, the harder it will be for you to hit it against the boss, but ALSO the more damage it deals when it DOES! Also watch out for other attacks, such as this boss' shockwaves, as well as the pendulums protecting themselves with spikes. The only time you get to hit this boss directly is when it finally falls down and lets you go for the finishing blow! ---------- And with that, Sonic should have collected enough Material for the next ride to be made. Still, Tails wondered what the deal with that Ghost Pendulum... Marine believed it was another enemy that was specifically targeting her from a secret organization. Sonic & Tails didn't believe her... ---------- Back at Marine's house, you should be able to build the second ride at this point, called the Ocean Tornado. You'll need 5 each of Green & Bronze Material to build it. The Ocean Tornado is a large-scale sailboat that can cross deeper waters and further distances than the Wave Cyclone, but this means it also CAN'T cross shallow waters. (Personally, I would've called this thing the Whirlpool.) Part of the deal with these rides is figuring out which one of them you'll need at the time to reach more islands, which can be a bit of a hassle in and of itself.
