Honda BF40/50 internal problems

A while back I bought a Honda BF40 outboard motor to re power my boat. Right at the beginning I ran into problems with the first motor I bought, so much that I ended up buying a 2nd one just for parts. I was able to put a good running motor together but wasn't happy with the overall performance. The boat was way too slow for my taste, but that's another story. I sold the BF40 and ended up with a damaged BF50 from the person who bought my motor. I'm now working on getting the BF50 back in shape to sell it. From this short time working with those motors I learned a few things about common (or not so common) problems that those motors suffer from. In this video I like to share what I found and hope it may help someone with making a purchase decision or is getting ready to repair an existing Honda 40/50HP outboard.
