Thursdays Child Has a Very Cornish Christmas | Willow Elizabeth

This December I took a trip down to Penzance to see my Bestie in the local production of Nativity the Musical, so I decided to not only make a full #cornish #christmas of it, but also to vlog the whole thing. Something that struck me during this trip that I wasn’t expecting was how many memories of childhood Christmases it unlocked. As much as there were so many things about my childhood on Scilly that I will leave for my therapist and I to unpack; and whilst images of boat rides, palm trees, seaweed covering sandy beaches may not be a ‘Traditional English Christmas’ to most people. Christmases littered with Salty Sea air and Atlantic winds that froze my fingers whilst watching the harbour lights turn on was a big part of my personal history that I haven’t thought about that in a long time. So, it was lovely to have a space to be able to connect to those memories again in a joyful way.
