LWN "Let's Talk" Jo Cox Civility Commission Recommendations

LWN held their "Let's Talk" Jo Cox Civility Commission Recommendations Tuesday 18th February 2025. Over the years, we have seen the level of abuse, harassment and intimidation directed at those in public life intensify and is on the rise. Our friends at the The Jo Cox Foundation, have done a significant amount of work and research via The Jo Cox Civility Commission, which has identified a range of practical recommendations that the Government could be put in place now to make a difference to the issue of abuse and intimidation of elected politicians... You can read all the recommendation plus an update on the progress made against each recommendations at www.jocoxfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Jo-Cox-Civility-Commission-Jan-2025-Update.pdf LWN fully support these recommendation, and while we don't take policy positions, our "Let’s Talk" events make a feminist space for important discussions to be had that affect women. We have five fantastic panellists on the night: 🌹 Seema Malhotra MP, Minister for Citizenship and Equalities, 🌹 Hannah Phillips, Civility Commission Manager at the Jo Cox Foundation, 🌹 Councillor Saj Ahmad, Nottingham City Council, 🌹 Anya Sizer, Democracy Lead for Compassion in Politics, and 🌹 Kiran Mahil, LWN Secretary will Chair.
