Write a Postcard to Someone You Haven’t Talked to in YearsPull over, buy a postcard, and write to a long-lost friend or relative. Send it if possible. 6. Scavenger PenaltyFind a rock, pine cone, or natural souvenir and label it with the date and location of your “penalty stop.” 7. Sing the Worst Song on the Last CD Pick the most annoying or least favourite track and sing it out loud —no skipping. 8. Roadside Clean-UpSpend 10 minutes picking up trash near where you stopped. 9. Public Compliment PenaltyCompliment the next 3 people you see (genuinely), whether they’re strangers or staff at a gas station. 10. Time Bank is set back to 0. Any unused time in the time bank will be lost and the bank will be reset to 0 11. Detour PenaltyTake a random road turn-off and follow it for 5-10 minutes before returning to your route.a 12. "No Tech" Penalty No phone, or GPS for 30 minutes. Go old school. I Spy List: 🏔️ A snow-capped mountain – Even in summer, some peaks in BC still have snow. 🪵 A logging truck – Hauling massive logs through winding highways. 🐻 A bear warning sign – Keep your eyes out for the yellow wildlife crossing signs. 🛳️ A ferry or ferry terminal – Especially along the coast or heading to Vancouver Island. 🌲 A tree growing on a rock – Nature finds a way! Common in the coastal rainforest. 🐄 Cows or horses in a field – You'll see lots of farmland in the Fraser Valley or Okanagan. 🚲 Someone biking with panniers – Long-distance cyclists love BC’s scenic routes. 🏞️ A waterfall – From small roadside ones to massive cascades, they’re all over. 🎣 Someone fishing – Near rivers, lakes, or even from a bridge. 🛶 A canoe or kayak – Look out on lakes and inlets for paddlers. 🦅 Bald eagle (soaring or perched on a tree or pole) ❄️ Yukon License Plate 🚂 Train passing on tracks Totem or Inukshuk (on a trail, sign, or in a town centre) 🦌 BC wildlife crossing sign (e.g., for deer, moose, or elk)
