They took one listen and threw the demo at his rep, saying we want nothing to do with this artist. He thought he had a record deal only to be dropped, but he persevered. The demo they threw away became the album Sixteen Stone and had 5 massive hits, including Everything Zen, Machinehead, Comedown, and Glycerine, which were all #1 hits on the Alt charts, and it sold 10 million copies worldwide. Bush, with Gavin Rossdale, became an institution.
