So the other day, I passed a building in Elmhurst that I noticed was being demolished. I came back today in hope that I would be able to either sort through rubble for a few fire alarms, or I could ask someone working there if there were any alarms they could give me. I ended up asking someone working on the site (who by the way was a very nice guy) if he could find any fire alarms that they could give me. He said he'd look, and he walked onto the site, looked around a bit, and then asked one of his co-workers about it, and then they found a pull station and gave it to me. I brought it home and pretty quickly got to refurbishing it. Honestly, I was amazed with the end result, especially considering how bad of quality the alarm was in before being refurbished. I found out from reading print on the wires of the alarm that it came from the second floor, and must have fallen when that part of the building was hit with a machine to knock it down. I have to give a very, very special thank you to Ryan Companies US INC for sorting through a pile of rubble for the alarm, and for giving it to me. Enjoy!
