I love the way you can style them in so many ways - with the uber popular denim midi skirt, with wide leg trousers, with a t-shirt underneath, without a t-shirt, in high end fabric for an evening look plus it gives me massive Rachel, Phoebe and Monica vibes from the 90s Friends era, my heyday! I chose Butterick 6901 because I liked the slim fit, classic design and it also includes a wide leg trouser sewing pattern, which looked good too. You can find links to the pattern and fabrics I used below. I chose our linen cotton mix fabric in navy, it is such a great fabric to sew with and wear. It presses and sews beautifully and is available in a wide range of colours including neutrals black and white. I cut a size 12 at the bust and graded to a 14 at the waist. I also made my usual high round back and forward shoulder adjustments - you can see a tutorial on this on our channel (see links below). The construction of this sewing pattern was a lot of fun. It includes fake welt pockets, which are quick and easy to sew and it is fully lined. I chose to use a traditional tailoring lining method and have created a step by step tutorial video for you, which I'll share next week. It worked really well and was a lot of fun.
