Put to the test! My retrospect: Driving in 2WD or towing off road can damage tracks and the landscape unnecessarily. Driving slower in 4wd provides more control and helps reduce your environmental impact. The same goes for reducing vehicle weight/not towing. Please be considerate. In this video we finish driving the QAA line - a track that goes through the eastern side of the Simpson Desert between Birdsville and Poeppel Corner - where the state of Queensland meets South Australia and the Northern Territory. This video features a Holden Rodeo (4JH1-T with Jatco automatic), Toyota FJ Cruiser and a Isuzu D-MAX among other vehicles. We completed our Simpson Desert crossing in 2WD but I recommend 4WD to reduce vehicle environmental impact. Footage filmed in 2018.
