If you haven't noticed, the thumbnail was inspired from my January 2022 video from 4 years ago. Contrasting the old vs new and also the background changes within the last 4 years. The first month of the year is down already and the first of the monthly Sacramento Regional Transit light rail system compilation of the year 2026. In January 2026, SACRT made completions in the Dos Rios Blue Line section construction although, I held off documenting that for this month and possibly the next. From what I've seen, the inbound platform of the Dos Rios Station has station structures built now. On the Gold Line, a tie replacement maintenance of way project started between the Starfire Station and the 29th Street Station. More precisely between Starfire Dr and Stockton Blvd/34th St crossings is where construction is taking place on both tracks primarily the inbound track since a majority of spots of it are older than the outbound track and sections of the outbound track are being worked on. While that is taking place, I have filmed some light rail trains switching over crossover switches that aren't normally used at the 29th Street, Watt/Manlove, and Butterfield Stations. I was able to film the Watt/Manlove switch as trains were briefly running up to Watt/Manlove before later in the day when the bus bridge was pushed back to Power Inn then 29th Street Stations. SACRT seems to have a lot of bells dying primarily, their older GS E-Bells. I think our months-long fog has affected the bells negatively also. Bells at Jackson Rd, Mayhew Rd, Bradshaw Rd, Horn Rd & more have at least 1 bell that isn't ringing properly and then there's the tone loss type 1s that still exists on the system and the broken bell at Mills Park Dr still there. I think Routier Rd bell one time wasn't ringing properly near the intersection. Primary, SACRT's GS E-Bells that have faded to the point green is showing from the PVC pipe are the ones having the problems. SACRT also has caught a couple of copper thieves that have been hindering the system earlier this month and the last few months plaguing it with service disriptions.
