Brian Clarke is a social historian of Christianity and adjunct member of faculty at Emmanuel College, at the Toronto School of Theology, University of Toronto. He is co-author with Stuart Macdonald of Leaving Christianity: Changing Allegiances in Canada since 1945 (Montreal & Kingston: McGill-Queen's University Press, 2017). Stuart Macdonald is Professor of Church and Society at Knox College, at the Toronto School of Theology, University of Toronto. He is co-author with Brian Clarke of Leaving Christianity: Changing Allegiances in Canada since 1945 (Montreal & Kingston: McGill-Queen's University Press, 2017). Callum Brown is the Professor of Late Modern European History at the University of Glasgow. He is a social and cultural historian specializing in the period from 1750 to present times and author of The Death of Christian Britain (2000), Becoming Atheist (2017), The Battle for Christian Britain (2019). Christine Mitchell is Professor of Hebrew Scriptures at St. Andrew’s College and adjunct member of the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at the University of Saskatchewan. She sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Biblical Literature, is the inaugural editor of the Advancing Studies in Religion series at McGill-Queen’s University Press, and has written widely on topics such as the biblical books of Chronicles and feminist and gender studies approaches to biblical texts. Peter Beyer is Professor Emeritus of Religious Studies at the University of Ottawa. His publications include: Religion and Globalization (Sage, 1994), Religions in Global Society (Routledge, 2006), Religion in the Context of Globalization (Routledge, 2013), and Growing Up Canadian: Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists (with R. Ramji, McGill-Queen’s, 2013). Meet the Author is a webinar series organized by the Nonreligion in a Complex Future project. This series invites scholars conducting innovative research on nonreligion to discuss their work, and fosters wider discussions and debates on nonreligion.
