Footage of suburban electric trains running in Melbourne in 2004 and 2005. This was shot on my first digital camera, which was only able to take 16 seconds of low resolution video, with no sound! This was a pretty interesting time in Melbourne - M-train had just pulled out of operating the 'south' side of the network, leaving Connex in charge of the whole system. The two types of refurbished Comeng were not yet able to run together and were still separated with Alstom sets on the Burnley/Clifton Hill groups and EDI sets on the Northern/Caulfield. The EDI sets had been stripped of their M-train livery, with many still running around naked. Hitachis were still in service, and still carrying the green & yellow Met livery, with the tartan seats inside. X'traps and Siemens were still pretty new, and the Siemens were appearing in all sorts of different liveries.
